Return to Darjeeling: Land Of Five Treasures

About

Many paths cross during World War II for Richard Moore in England and, later, in India and Burma. The conscripted schoolmaster, leaving behind a wife and two children, mourns countless tragedies and questions his strength to be the leader his commanders and troops expect him to be.

Emma Hanson, a company wife, feels the need to do more than plan country club socials for the servicemen. After witnessing a plane crash killing the flyer, she flees her dysfunctional marriage and heads to Calcutta, India. Emma joins the army’s vaudeville unit to entertain troops. When funding ends, she becomes an army nurse.

As war deals its many blows, Richard’s and Emma’s paths cross and miss until Darjeeling where Richard discovers a talent and love for painting; Emma finds a much-needed reprieve from the casualties of war. Alas, both have heinous trials to endure and conquer in England before the Return to Darjeeling.
