Hector Fallon’s Legacy {The Lonsdale Saga Book 5]

About

When Sir Martin and Lady Annabelle are reported lost at sea, their daughter Amelia is left to manage the Lonsdale estate on her own until after a dramatic rescue her parents return to Ainley Hall.
Meanwhile, on the death of Hector Fallon of Ingleside Manor, his nephew Colonel Arthur Stillwell serving in India resigns his commis- sion and as sole heir to his uncle’s fortune returns to England to take possession of an estate in Gunnerdale and cotton mill in Rawtonfield.
On the steamship home he is introduced to Foreign Service officer, Howard Johnson and together they uncover a plot on board to smuggle opium to France.
Pramila Hadrill, daughter of the Raja of Aundh, is also on the voyage with her nephew, Prince Devendra whom she is intent on safeguarding from the clutches of his malevolent uncle, Nana Saheb. With Stillwell’s help they find security in Gunnerdale.
When Stillwell becomes a member of the brotherhood of Rawtonfield cotton manufacturers, there is grave concern that civil war may break out in America putting future supplies of raw cotton at risk. Happily, however, his involvement with Sir Stanley Horsfall, chairman of the brotherhood leads to his meeting the charming Sarah Layton-Thomas and the prelude to a possible romance.
